Little things compound

Every week, I sign off this newsletter with a simple yet unique message related to the topic of the week.

But it doesn’t end there.

The messages are action oriented so you can make one small change in your life, business, or projects.

Every. Single. Week.

I believe that these small nudges add up over time.

They become invisible systems that shape who you are and how you lead.

Some weeks, the push is about doing:

  • Go get the most out of your week.
  • Cook something worthwhile.
  • Tweak something.

Because sometimes, growth is just motion.

Do one thing well. Move to the next thing.

Other weeks, it’s about thinking:

  • What puzzle are you cracking this week?
  • Explain that technical term to your team with an analogy.
  • Seek out the 3% of your efforts that create the most impact.

Because a sharper mind often comes from the questions we ask, not the answers we find.

Then there are the weeks of feeling and connection:

  • Hold somebody’s hand.
  • Do something social.
  • Appreciate somebody who makes your work worth it.

Leadership, after all, is human work.

The systems we build are only as strong as the people we carry along.

And, of course, the reminders to stretch:

  • Do something atypical of you.
  • Unleash the rebel in you.
  • Look inward.
  • Do something greater than yourself.

Because progress often hides behind discomfort.

In the rebellion, in the reflection, and in the willingness to surprise yourself.

Sometimes, the message is a whisper:

  • Stay focused on what truly matters.
  • Take 1 min to reflect on 1 thing.
  • Be about net positives.

Because quiet focus is often louder than noise.

Each sign-off is a reminder that development (personal or national) is an intentional craft.

It’s built by deliberate, tiny shifts in how we show up each week.

So here’s your nudge today:

Little things compound. Start something little today.

PS. I share this same newsletter on LinkedIn but only you, my email subscribers get these gentle sign-off nudges. You'll find a list of all the sign-off messages so far here.
